Well, guess this one really comes down to. Hotmail itself isn't as popular as it hotmail still working used. It {gotabsorbed Microsoft back then, and now it's part of their suite of email {services|. That means you can still find Hotmail accounts, but they're more like a relic. Most people these days stick with other options like Outlook or Gmail.
